Meet of the Mountain States IV
The fourth edition of MoMS held in Delhi will deliberate on policy issues pertaining to Water Security and Skills for Development in the mountains, which were discussed at length during the SMDS-V held at Leh, Ladakh, in September 2016. The event will also focus on findings and recommendations that emerged during workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction held in Kohima, Nagaland in the month of July, 2016. 1st Young Mountain Filmmakers Competition is expected to take place at the Youth Summit- SMDS VI, wherein the young filmmakers from mountain states will gather and showcase their work on critical mountain issues like conservation, climate change, sustainability, loss of cultural identity etc. The participants will also get an opportunity to learn from professional filmmakers, discuss film-making concepts for critical mountain issues. The best entries from the 1st Young Mountain Filmmakers Competition will be showcased at the main Summit.

The Summit VI was unanimously decided to be held in Aizawl, hosted by the Mizoram Sustainable Development Foundation (MSDF). The 6th Indian Himalayan Photography Competition is an opportunity for photographers to showcase the scenic as well as cultural richness and beauty of the Himalayas. The competition has, over the years, become an important highlight for both amateur and professional photographers and is expected to not just highlight the salient features of the Indian Himalayan Region but also to encourage photography as a medium to speak for and about mountains, its people, their challenges and to celebrate life in mountain.
